Eid For All

Eid is a Muslim holiday marked by feasts, gift-giving, and special prayers with loved ones. There are two major Eids celebrated annually, Eid-al-Fitr and Eid-al-Adha, both of which are a time of joy, celebration, and unity for Muslims and are widely anticipated and celebrated by Muslim communities worldwide.

During the celebration of Eid, many women who are staying in shelters may face difficulties in celebrating the holiday. These women may feel isolated, lonely, and unable to join their families and communities in the joyous festivities. The challenges faced by women highlight the ongoing need for support and resources for survivors of domestic violence and other forms of abuse. To address these challenges, it is crucial to acknowledge the unique difficulties faced by women in shelters and work towards creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all, especially during holidays and special occasions.

We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to observe and celebrate their religious holidays. To fulfill this belief, we distribute Eid gifts to women residing in shelters in the Greater Toronto Area. Our Eid gift package includes warm and cozy clothing, personal care items, and a heartfelt note to offer support and encouragement.
