Iftaar Distribution In The GTA

As food provides the necessary nutrients and energy for the body to function, it plays a crucial role in maintaining good health and preventing malnutrition and other health concerns. Access to adequate and nutritious food is a basic human right and essential for leading a healthy and fulfilling life. However, many people around the world face food insecurity—the lack of access to enough food to meet the dietary needs of a person or household.

To alleviate the immediate struggles of food insecurity and improve the overall health and well-being of those affected, Humanity Helps Hunger works to support those in need by offering hot meals and ration packages containing essential items. This initiative reflects our community’s support and solidarity for those who are struggling to meet their basic needs. It promotes a sense of collective responsibility for the well-being of all members and works towards building a more just and inclusive society.

During the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, many Muslims abstain from eating and drinking from sunrise to sunset. Iftaar refers to the evening meal consumed to break the fast. Iftaar is often a time for families and friends to come together and enjoy a meal. To support this effort, Humanity Helps Hunger partners with local mosques to distribute iftaar as an act of charity, providing food and support to those observing the fast. With your generosity, we fed 1200 families at the Drive-Thru Iftaar at Isna Canada last year, bringing the community together and promoting a spirit of compassion within our local communities.
